At Max Divers, we create small dive groups to give every diver a safer, more personal, and more enjoyable experience. Each group has one professional guide and a maximum of four or five divers, depending on experience levels, dive conditions, and the plan for the day.
On the first day of every diving package, we conduct a check dive. This gives our team the opportunity to see how each diver is feeling in the water, check comfort with equipment, observe buoyancy, and understand recent diving experience. A check dive is not a test; it is simply the best way for us to plan diving that suits everyone.
After the check dive, we group divers as carefully as possible according to their experience, confidence, air consumption, interests, and certification level. We aim to avoid placing a very experienced diver and a less confident diver in the same group when this would make the dive less enjoyable for either person.
Small dive groups allow the guide to give more attention to every guest. Your guide can help you adjust equipment, improve comfort in the water, point out marine life, and make sure the group follows the dive plan together. This also creates a calmer experience underwater, especially on reefs, drift dives, or when observing sharks, rays, turtles, and other marine life.
Our maximum ratio is four or five divers with one guide. For some dives or groups, we may choose an even smaller group if that is better for safety, conditions, or the experience level of the divers. We never build large groups simply to fill the boat.
