Can non-swimmers try scuba?

Yes, non-swimmers may be able to try scuba diving with Max Divers through a Discover Scuba Diving experience.

A Discover Scuba Diving experience is designed for people who have never dived before and would like to see what breathing underwater feels like before deciding whether to take a full scuba course. You do not need previous diving experience or a certification. We begin slowly, in calm and shallow water, with close instructor supervision.

Before entering the water, your instructor will explain the equipment, how to breathe from the regulator, how to communicate underwater, and the basic rules that keep the experience safe and comfortable. You will have time to ask questions and become familiar with the equipment before you start.

In the shallow-water session, you will practise a few simple skills at your own pace. Your instructor stays close at all times and will only continue when you feel relaxed and comfortable. There is no pressure to go deeper, move faster, or do anything that makes you nervous. If you decide that you do not want to continue, that is completely fine.

Scuba diving for non-swimmers in Maldives can be a wonderful first underwater experience, but every participant must be reasonably fit, comfortable in the water, and able to follow the instructor’s directions. Before the activity, we review the required medical questionnaire and assess whether the experience is suitable for you. Your safety and comfort always come first.
