Do I need a visa for the Maldives?

Most visitors travelling to the Maldives for a holiday do not need to apply for a visa before they travel.ays made by the immigration officer when you arrive.

Before flying, make sure your passport is valid for at least one month from your arrival date and has a machine-readable zone. You should also have a confirmed return or onward ticket, as well as a confirmed and prepaid booking at a registered hotel, guesthouse, resort, or liveaboard. Keep these documents available on your phone and, if possible, in printed form, as airline staff or immigration officers may ask to see them.

All travellers must also complete the IMUGA Traveller Declaration online within 96 hours before their flight to the Maldives.

If you are travelling for work, long-term residence, or another purpose, different visa rules may apply.

Entry requirements can change, and rules may differ depending on your nationality, passport status, travel route, or airline. We recommend checking the latest information from Maldives Immigration and confirming the requirements with your airline before departure.
