How long should I wait before flying?

Flying after diving requires careful planning. At Max Divers, we recommend waiting a minimum of 18 hours after your last dive before taking a flight. For a more conservative and comfortable interval, waiting 24 hours is recommended whenever possible.

The correct time depends on several factors. These include how many dives you completed, how many days you were diving, the length and profile of your dives, the amount of repetitive diving, your surface intervals, your physical condition, hydration, and the no-fly information shown by your dive computer.

For example, a guest who completed only one easy recreational dive may have different considerations from a guest who has completed several dives per day over multiple days. The more diving you do, the more important it becomes to allow enough time at the surface before flying.

For most recreational divers joining our normal diving programmes, an 18-hour minimum interval after the final dive is appropriate. However, we strongly prefer that guests plan 24 hours between their last dive and their international flight whenever their travel schedule allows it. This gives you more time to rest, hydrate, enjoy Dhangethi, pack your equipment, and travel to the airport without rushing.
